What is self? What happens when algorithms and technology determine complexed cultural apparat? How this transformation affects our public, personal in intimate sphere?
RemixID is a three-day workshop, during which the participants will investigate according to the »hands-on« approach the limit between self and the concept of identity in the time of ubiquitous technology, social networks and cultural interventions. Participants will be faced with complexed technology, for example, face recognition, and they will have to use in a different way for different purpose. This way they will rethink and rewrite their codes and social meaning. In the end of the workshop the outcomes will be presented at the annual exhibition of Initiative ČIPke Strands.
For the workshop you will need a personal computer, smart phone or/and digital camera and a part of yourself – piece of your memory in analogue. It can be photograph, object, memory from the past, written on a piece of paper, pair of shoes, socks. It can be a digital photograph, but printed on the paper. Something, which you count as a part of yourself no matter the reason.
